Description
Are you tired of feeling constantly on the go? Do you feel like you are always on call?
These experiences are common in our fast-paced modern lives.
Why not take some time to unplug at our relaxing silent day retreat.
The retreat day will take place in our beautiful peaceful meditation centre. You will have access to the large lounge area upstairs, where you can chill with a book in between sessions or can take a walk along the canal.
Three sessions of teachings and guided meditations to help you go deep into the peace within your own heart.
Description
Most people think of retreat as getting away from external things, taking a break from busy activities; but it’s easy to forget about retreating from our own distractions, which is the most important. We can cut ourselves off from all contact with work, but if we keep worrying about the things we have left undone then work will still interfere with our retreat. Retreat is mainly a state of mind. Silence is very useful: it helps us turn inwards and pay more attention to our mental chatter, so that we can begin to let it go and experience real silence within our mind.
Please note that in order to enable people space to be still and quiet during the retreat, limited in-person places are available. As a result, advance booking is essential for everyone (including Centre members and benefactors) to prevent disappointment.
Everyone welcome.

The teacher of this class is Gen Kelsang Leksang. She has been an ordained Buddhist nun for 16 years. she has been studying under the guidance of the meditation master Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for over 20 years and was first appointed as Resident Teacher at KMC Birmingham in 2007.
Appreciated for her caring and positive manner, she has the ability to inspire people to improve their own lives by showing how Buddha’s teaching are relevant to the experiences of modern-day people.
